Kanley sold a used spellbook to Betham the Sage. A few days later Betham contacted his old apprentice Vincent regarding the book. The book had once belonged to Trinkit Neverhalf, a traveling companion of Vincent’s missing father. Betham had identified the book, but could not say how long ago it had been lost. Vincent made plans to confront Kanley about how he got the book.
Kanley was caught strong arming a dock worker by Morithes. In the ensuing scuffle Kanley stabbed the dock worker (Devic) before being subdued by the monk. He was sentenced to death by hanging the next morning, but was murdered in his cell over night.
